Experience
Education & Training Leadership
For more than two decades, I have worked to create spaces where Squamish People can learn, grow, and build meaningful careers.
Eslha7an Learning Centre (Founder & Manager) – I founded the Eslha7an Learning Centre to bring education and culture together for Indigenous learners. The Centre supported students from youth to Elders, providing a safe space for learning grounded in traditional teachings.
Squamish Nation Employment & Training (Department Head) – I expanded Employment & Training to include the Eslha7an Learning Centre, Stitsma Training Centre, Income Assistance, and Human Resources. I also launched the Squamish Nation Trades Centre, preparing members with skills to succeed in trades and workforce opportunities.
North Vancouver School District (Community Coordinator & First Nations Educator) – I worked directly with Indigenous students and families to strengthen support programs and connect education with cultural identity.
Governance & Nation Building
I have had the privilege of serving the Squamish Nation in leadership and governance roles, always with a focus on fairness, accountability, and opportunity.
Squamish Nation Council (Councilor) – Elected Councilor for a four-year term, I co-chaired the Education Portfolio and chaired the Human Resources Committee, which later grew into a full HR Department under my leadership.
Human Resources Leadership – I was instrumental in laying the foundation for the Nation’s HR Department, ensuring fair hiring practices and career pathways for Squamish members.
Community Engagement & Cultural Advocacy
Beyond governance and education, my work has always centered on building bridges — between generations, between Nations, and with the wider community.
Reconciliation Consultant– I deliver reconciliation training and Coast Salish cultural teachings across schools, governments, and organizations. My work advocates for Indigenous-led solutions, language revitalization, and intergenerational healing.
Four Host Nations (Manager, Special Projects) – Part of the Cultural Protocol team at the Aboriginal Pavilion for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, responsible for sharing our culture with the world and creating Indigenous job fairs.
