Priorities
Rebuilding Trust and Unity
My first priority is to restore trust, harmony, and unity in our Nation. I was proud to be part of the team that brought electoral reform to referendum, ensuring we returned to a 16-member Council. This change means fairer representation and stronger leadership that respects our Chiefs, Matriarchs, Elders, and all community voices.
Fairness for all Members
I lived off-reserve for 25 years, and I know the challenges our members face when they are away from home. Too often, off-reserve members are left behind. I will work to create fair and inclusive policies so that everyone has equal access to housing, services, and opportunities, no matter where they live.
Stronger Career Pathways
I helped develop our first Human Resources Committee, which later grew into a full department. The goal was always to ensure fair hiring and to bring in skilled non-members only when needed — with the clear purpose of training and mentoring Squamish People into those roles. I will continue to push for career growth and leadership pathways for our members.
Building Long-Term Prosperity
Economic development is vital for our future. I will support Nch’ḵaý’s work in creating long-term wealth for our people while also making sure members see opportunities today. That means more jobs, stronger business pathways, and better communication about how projects benefit our community.
Bridging Generations
Our Elders carry wisdom and our youth carry the future. To move forward, we must bring them together. I will support more dialogue, mentorship, and learning spaces that connect our teachings, language, and traditions with the innovation of the next generation.
